Robert “Bob” Cohen is a CPA with an MBA in Finance. He came to Glass Jacobson in 2011 with over 25 years of experience in public accounting. Previously, Bob was a Tax Partner at a BDO Seidman, a national firm after his firm Bornstein Harab was merged. Bob also is a Certified Financial Planner since 1994.
Bob’s practice focuses on tax and wealth planning for closely-held businesses in government contracting, real estate, construction, distribution, and professional services. He specializes in advising businesses through mergers and acquisitions through expert advice with tax, legal structure and financing. He also is expert with retirement planning. Bob also spent three years working as a consultant with Fannie Mae, leading teams working and testing Derivative accounting and re-engineering the Corporate Tax department to properly report for FAS 109.
Bob is a member of the University of Maryland Alumni Association, Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants; American Institute of CPAs; Technology Council of Maryland; and Suburban Maryland Estate Planning Council. He has written articles for publication in the areas of tax and financial planning.
