Laura began her study of movement science at the University of Maryland, where she earned her B.S. in Kinesiology, and went on to earn her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree at Rutgers University, in her home state of New Jersey. She was naturally drawn to the profession of Physical Therapy, as she had always been fascinated by anatomy and the inner workings of human movement. She has been in clinical practice, keeping New Yorkers on the move for 3 years.
Laura is fueled by her desire to empower people with the tools to become their strongest, most resilient selves. She believes that there is no goal too big or too small for rehabilitation or performance optimization. Her philosophy as a healthcare practitioner is to “get to the heart of the matter”; she strives to resolve pain and dysfunction at the source to ensure lasting outcomes.
Laura utilizes a motor control-centric approach to assess and treat her patients, whether they are coming in for back aches, jaw clicking, tennis elbow, or post-surgery. A devoted learner, she has completed certifications in Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA), NeuroKinetic Therapy (NKT), RockTape Functional Movement Techniques (FMT), and is currently in pursuit of her Postural Restoration Certification (PRC) through the Postural Restoration Institute. Through her continued studies, she has honed unique strategies to guide her patients on their road to recovery and feeling their best.
